In Psalm 45, the sons of Korah write:
My heart is stirred by a noble theme
as I recite my verses for the king;
my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer.
The “noble theme” in that Psalm is the worthiness of the king, a theme that I would echo. As a Christian reader of the world’s literature, I cannot help making connections. I cannot ignore the parallels, intentional or otherwise, between the Hebrew and Greek Scriptures on the one hand and the poetry, plays, films, fiction, and other literary expressions we find on the other.
This, therefore, is the charge of this site: to comment, hopefully coherently and thoughtfully, on a wide array of literary works from a Christian perspective.
